Hatch Marks 65 Years of Providing Engineering Solutions
03/08/2021 - Canada-based engineering, project management and professional services firm Hatch is celebrating its 65th anniversary this year.
Founded in the 1950s, the firm started as an engineering and technology consultancy primarily focused on the metals and infrastructure sectors. One of its first projects, in fact, was a Sorel-Tracy, Québec, metallurgical complex built by Québec Iron & Titanium, now Rio Tinto.
The firm has since grown to a company of more than 9,000 employees and is working on solutions to some of the world’s biggest social challenges.
"As ‘entrepreneurs with a technical soul,’ Hatch is uniquely positioned and obligated to tackle the toughest challenges facing our clients, and our world today," said John Bianchini, Hatch’s chairman and chief executive officer.
"Some of the major themes occurring in our market sectors include the energy transformation toward renewable power and decarbonization, infrastructure development toward large, livable cities with sustainable resources, and a shift toward a new, digitized world. The climate change and sustainability solutions we identify in partnership with our clients will not only positively impact their businesses, but the communities and environments we all live and work in."
