Harsco Receives Global Safety Award
06/28/2010 - Harsco has been selected by SABIC (Saudi Basic Industries Corporation) to receive its prestigious Safety, Health and Environment Award for Global Contractors for the past year.
Harsco Corp. announced that its Harsco Infrastructure business group has been selected by SABIC (Saudi Basic Industries Corp.) to receive its prestigious Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) Award for Global Contractors for the past year. SABIC gives the award annually to the contractor who has made the greatest contribution to safety, health and the environment throughout the company’s global operations.
Harsco’s selection as this year’s recipient of the award recognizes its exceptional safety performance at SABIC’s Geleen petrochemicals plant in the Netherlands. Harsco has worked at the site for more than three years, providing 24/7 onsite plant maintenance access services and support without any EU-OSHA violations. Harsco also supports SABIC at locations in Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom.
SABIC noted that Harsco’s Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) Award also recognizes the company for its direct support and active participation in SABIC’s safety, health and environmental initiatives, including Harsco’s collaboration with SABIC and other contractors in designing a new company-wide safety program, “SAFE at SABIC.”
“This award reaffirms the pre-eminent importance of safety to our customers, our employees and our entire Harsco organization,” said Salvatore D. Fazzolari, Harsco Chairman and CEO.
“As we continue to grow our Harsco Infrastructure presence in the global industrial construction and plant maintenance sectors, the recognition of industry-leading customers having the international scale and caliber of SABIC is both deeply appreciated and inspiring,” added Fazzolari.
SABIC is a leading international petrochemical and industrial company, with operations throughout Saudi Arabia, Europe, the Americas and Asia.
