In a press release, Harsco Environmental said the technology is able to salvage a larger volume of higher-quality metal from slags compared to traditional solutions.
 
“Implementing Magsort’s solution will allow for increased levels of internal recycling, helping steelmakers increase their sustainability and profitability by reducing waste and operating costs,” said Russ Mitchell, Harsco Environmental’s vice president and chief operating officer.
 
The program will be rolled out to carbon steelmakers initially, with solutions for stainless steelmakers following in a second phase.
