Harsco Announces Executive Appointments

Global industrial services and engineered products company Harsco Corp. announced the appointment of Mark E. Kimmel as Harsco senior vice president and president of the company's global Harsco Infrastructure business group. Mr. Kimmel succeeds Ivor Harrington, who is taking another position in the industry. The company also announced that A. Verona Dorch will succeed Mr. Kimmel as vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary. Both appointments are effective immediately.

Mr. Kimmel assumes the leadership of the Harsco Infrastructure group as it completes the final stages of its restructuring and positions itself for a return to solid performance and increasing growth. During the past two years, Harsco has significantly restructured both its Infrastructure and Metals & Minerals businesses by reducing breakeven points, improving capital utilization and asset efficiency, focusing on sales efforts and upgrading the leadership team.

Mr. Kimmel joined Harsco in 2002 and has led the company's worldwide legal and corporate governance disciplines while also serving directly in the oversight of the Infrastructure and Metals & Minerals business group restructurings. Ms. Dorch joined Harsco in 2006 and has served in increasingly responsible positions within the company's legal department, most recently as deputy general counsel and assistant corporate secretary.

Announcing the appointments, Interim chairman and CEO Henry J. Knueppel said, "We are fortunate to have knowledgeable and proven leadership from within our organization ready to step forward for these roles. This ensures a seamless continuity in both areas that will be critical to maintaining and ultimately accelerating our momentum."
