HarbisonWalker Rounds Out Senior Leadership

In a statement, HarbisonWalker said Ross Wilkin has been named chief financial officer and corporate treasurer and Michael Werner has been hired as senior vice president, commercial and corporate officer.

"Both possess a results-driven mindset, depth of experience and an intense desire to make positive contributions, all of which will have an immediate impact on the continuous improvement of our business," said HarbisonWalker chairwoman and chief executive Carol Jackson.

"Ross and Mike’s respective expertise and proven track records in the manufacturing sector will support initiatives across the company to ultimately benefit our customers."

Wilkin previously served as chief financial officer at Universal Stainless & Alloy Products Inc., but much of his career was spent at food processor H.J. Heinz Company, where he held various positions of increasing responsibility.

Werner led global commercial operations for Loparex, a leading global manufacturer of specialty coated release films and papers. Prior to that, he spent 20 years at GE Plastics and Sabic, serving in numerous domestic and global roles.

Additionally, the company said it has named company veteran Tom Richter as senior director for strategic business technology. In that role, he will lead the company’s newly created Business Technology Council, which will create new business technology platforms for HarbisonWalker, focusing on areas such as automation, analytics and materials science.

"The initiative is a logical next step in HWI’s continued commitment to innovation and global industry leadership," said Martha Collins, HarbisonWalker’s chief technical officer. "With Tom’s broad knowledge of our industry and our company, he is well positioned to lead this important strategic role.

Richter began his HarbisonWalker career as a senior research engineer. Prior to his new role, he served as the company’s general manager for its European and Middle Eastern operations.
