Danieli said it replaced the rod mill’s laying head and part of the cooling line with Danieli’s patented Oil Film Bearing unit and other controlled-cooling equipment. In the next stage of work, Danieli is to install a 3-stand Compact Sizing Block that has multiple-drive technology.

Once the work is fully completed, the plant will be able to roll plain and deformed wire rod in diameters of between 5.5 and 16 mm at rolling speeds of up to 115 m/second, according to Danieli. 

The full project is scheduled for completion by January 2018.
