German Mill Gives Preliminary Acceptance of Mill Upgrade
11/15/2023 - Germany’s BGH Edelstahlwerke has signed the preliminary acceptance certificate on an upgrade to a roughing mill, according to project contractor Primetals Technologies.
In a statement, Primetals Technologies said the project focused on the automation system serving the No. 2 roughing mill at the company’s long-rolling plant in Freital, Germany.
“Thanks to the upgrade, BGH Edelstahlwerke benefits from an automation system that is easier to operate and, at the same time, is more reliable,” Primetals Technologies said.
The project was executed within a limited timeframe, Primetals Technologies said, and the new system has been in operation since July 2023. The project followed installation of a similar system on the plant’s No. 1 roughing mill.
