Gerdau Seeks Startups to Join Sales Accelerator Program
07/19/2021 - Long products maker Gerdau has put out a call for U.S. applications to its sales accelerator program, which aims to encourage new relationships between the steel producer and new, innovative companies.
Through the program, Gerdau is looking to work with fully funded, business-to-business startups that have a market-ready product, service or solution; an active sales team; and an existing customer base.
Companies that are invited to join the program will gain targeted introductions to Gerdau’s suppliers and customers and receive intensive sales training from Alchemist Accelerator’s global network of more than 30,000 entrepreneurs and mentors. The best-performing startups may also receive investment from Paris Ventures, Gerdau’s corporate venture capital arm, or opportunities to create joint ventures.
Gerdau said it is particularly interested in companies with solutions related to CO2 and carbon capture; value chain integration; recycling; smart building; and warehouse technology.
“Gerdau is an incredibly innovative company in its own right,” said Fernanda Ribero Bordin, senior manager for innovation, Gerdau Next. “Yet we know we have to collaborate with smart and sustainable startups to stay competitive in our dynamic markets. We believe working with startups makes us more innovative and resilient, and a better partner to our suppliers and customers,” he said.
U.S. applications are due 30 July. You can find more information here.
