Gerdau Completes Coke Oven Plant in India
07/07/2015 - As reported by the Business Standard, secondary steel maker Gerdau has inaugurated a coke oven plant built at an investment of around Rs 500 crore at Tadipatri in Andhra Pradesh.
Termed as 100 per cent environment-friendly, the plant has a capacity to produce 200,000 tonnes of coke, which will be used in high quality special steal, according to the company.
“Our coke oven project has been successfully completed by following all Gerdau Safety standards and giving values to safety above all,"said Sridhar Krishnamoorthy, managing director of Gerdau Steel India.
Headquartered in Brazil, Gerdau operates a steel plant it had acquired from the Baba Kalyani group in 2013 in the same place.
