Gerdau Ameristeel Appoints Communications Executive
05/02/2007 - Gerdau Ameristeel announced that Steven Hendricks has joined Gerdau Ameristeel as Director, Corporate Communications and Public Affairs.
Gerdau Ameristeel announced that Steven Hendricks has joined Gerdau Ameristeel as Director, Corporate Communications and Public Affairs.
In his new position, Steven will help promote and position Gerdau Ameristeel externally. His focus will be media relations, government affairs, brand management and community relations. He will work in the corporate executive office in Tampa, Fla., and report to Mario Longhi, President and CEO.

Prior to joining Gerdau Ameristeel, Steven’s communications and public affairs career included positions with such companies as Motorola, Inc.; Xerox Corp.; Compaq Computer Corp.; AT&T; and Hallmark Cards. He also served as an Assistant to the Governor of Kansas in Topeka, Kan.
Steven holds a bachelor's degree in Journalism from Wichita State University in Wichita, Kan. He is a member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) and the National Fatherhood Institute.
