George Hlavacs Celebrates 50 Years of Service at Middough

George E. Hlavacs, PE, part owner of Middough Inc., celebrates 50 years of service at the company. Mr. Hlavacs is a vice president and leader of projects in the metal industry. He joined Middough in 1963 as a co-op student from Cleveland State University, learning the business of engineering, working on foundations, towers, tunnels, shoring, conveyor systems, steel mill furnaces, and melt shops and other related structures and systems. He's also been active in serving refining and chemical industries as well. His vast knowledge of engineering in all its phases is without peer.
As a professional civil and structural engineer, he has led projects in industry and government, with local, national, and internationally placed clients. Mr. Hlavacs has served on several national and regional technical committees and associations. He is a registered professional engineer in 26 states and has many technical certifications and credentials. Because of his extensive technical experience, he is often called upon as an expert witness.
"I have enjoyed my career as an engineer over the past 50 years and will continue to contribute to the Middough team for at least a few more. It's still fun for me to be challenged at work and to see our clients succeed," states Mr. Hlavacs.
Today, he continues to design and manage projects for Middough. Mr. Hlavacs has demonstrated teamwork, integrity, competence, quality and respect for the individual, as well as mentoring new engineers throughout his 50 year career at Middough.
