According to the company, the grant will support a EUR10 million project to modernize the No. 2 pusher furnace at its facility in Dunkirk. The project aims to increase slab heating capacity for the rolling of heavy plates, while optimizing energy consumption and CO₂ emissions.  

To that end, the company will install new high-performance burners, a heat recovery system and new digital tools to manage furnace operations. The project is expected to yield a 2.7% reduction in CO₂ emissions.

The work is expected to be completed this summer.
