Fortune magazine hosted a survey on the world’s most admired companies for 2011. Leading international experts and business leaders participated in the survey, and the results were used to select 350 leading companies by industry including metals, aviation, chemicals, electronics, etc.

Fortune magazine evaluated 667 companies from 32 countries worldwide, based on 9 categories including innovation, financial health, social responsibility and managing ability.

Posco received a score of 7.21, ranking first in the metals field in 5 out of the 9 categories, including innovation, HR management, managing ability, financial health and long-term investment. Posco also ranked second in 3 categories: corporate asset utilization, social responsibility and product & services.

In addition, Apple was selected the world’s most admired company. This marks Apple’s fourth consecutive year of being No. 1.

Second was the world’s largest search engine company Google, followed by Warren Buffet’s Berkshire Hathaway, Southwest Airlines known for their “fun management,” and consumer products maker P&G. Coca-Cola, Amazon.com, FedEx, and Microsoft were also ranked in the top 10.
