Fortune Magazine List Ranks AK Steel as One of Americas Most Admired Companies

AK Steel has been named to Fortune magazine's 2008 listing of “America's Most Admired Companies”.

Fortune describes the Most Admired list as the "definitive report card on corporate reputations". The list is generated from the results of surveys taken by thousands of executives, directors and securities analysts. Surveys rate eight "key attributes of reputation" including innovation, people management, use of corporate assets, social responsibility, quality of management, financial soundness, long-term investment, and quality of products/services. Within the metals industry, AK Steel ranked first in both the quality of products/services and use of corporate assets categories.

"We are honored that AK Steel has been named to this prestigious list," said James L. Wainscott, Chairman, President and CEO of AK Steel. "It is gratifying to be recognized for those attributes that we hold as significant to our business."
