Former U.S. Steel Executive Will Oversee Federal Reserve Bank
01/19/2017 - Retired U. S. Steel Corp. chairman and chief executive John P. Surma has been named chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland.
According to Crain’s Cleveland Business, Surma has served on the board since 2013 and was the deputy chairman in 2015 and 2016. Surma headed U.S. Steel from 2004 to 2013.
His appointment took effect 1 January.
