Former Nucor CFO Honored by National Financial Organization

09/11/2007 - Financial Executives International selects former Nucor Vice Chairman, CFO, Treasurer and Secretary Sam Siegel as an inductee for the 2007 class of the FEI Hall of Fame.

Financial Executives International (FEI) has selected Sam Siegel, former Vice Chairman, CFO, Treasurer and Secretary of Nucor Corp. as an inductee for the 2007 class of the FEI Hall of Fame.
 
The FEI recognizes individuals who epitomize the performance, leadership and integrity of the most exemplary financial executives throughout their careers. Mr. Siegel will be honored, along with Thomas Jones, Vice Chairman of the International Accounting Standards Board, at a ceremony in New York City.
 
Mr. Siegel began his career with Nucor in 1961, as the company was formed. He progressed through a series of increasingly responsible positions, including Controller beginning in 1964, and Vice President—Finance, Treasurer and Secretary beginning in 1965. He was elected a Director in 1968; Executive Vice President in 1986; and Vice Chairman in 1991. He retired from Nucor in 1999 after 38 years of service to the company.
 
"During his nearly four decades with Nucor, Sam was instrumental in Nucor's success and instilled financial discipline and conservative financial and accounting practices that Nucor continues to follow today," said Dan DiMicco, Chairman, President and CEO of Nucor. "We congratulate Sam on this well-deserved honor."

Nucor and affiliates manufacture steel products, with operating facilities primarily in the U.S. and Canada. Products include carbon and alloy steel bars, beams, sheet and plate; steel joists and joist girders; steel deck; fabricated concrete reinforcing steel; cold finished steel; steel fasteners; metal building systems; light gauge steel framing; steel grating and expanded metal; and wire and wire mesh. Nucor is North America's largest recycler.
