Former Nucor CEO Enters Business Hall of Fame
11/20/2015 - Former Nucor Corp. CEO and chairman emeritus Dan DiMicco has been inducted into the North Carolina Business Hall of Fame.
The hall, a program administered by Junior Achievement of Central Carolinas and the North Carolina Chamber of Commerce, is meant to recognize the accomplishments of business leaders in the state.
Nucor is based in Charlotte, N.C. DiMicco led Nucor from September 2000 to December 2012, during which time the company grew through more than 50 acquisitions totaling US$6.5 billion.
"Dan's leadership of Nucor was the model which every company should attempt to match," said John Ferriola, DiMicco’s successor as chief executive, in a statement. "The growth that Nucor sustained over the dozen years of his leadership at a time of unprecedented global challenges is remarkable in every sense of the word.”
