Forecast: China's Steel Demand Expected to Cool Slightly This Year
03/30/2017 - The head of a Chinese metals think tank said he expects the country’s steel demand to drop 1.9 percent this year, reports the Reuters news service.
According to Reuters, Li Xinchuang, president of the China Metallurgical Industry Planning and Research Institute and vice chairman of the China Iron and Steel Association, forecast that demand will dip to about 660 million metric tons.
He made the forecast during the 20th annual Global Iron Ore & Steel Forecast Conference in Perth Australian.
