FerrouSouth Installs Red Bud Stretcher Leveler Retrofit
11/28/2014 - FerrouSouth, located in Iuka, Miss., recently installed a Red Bud Industries’ .250” (6 mm) x 72” (1830 mm) stretcher leveler with SUREGRIP® technology in an existing cut-to-length Line.
This was FerrouSouth’s second stretcher installation at this facility. Because this particular line primarily runs lighter gage material, maintaining high throughput was an important factor in the selection process. The Red Bud Stretcher was selected due to its quick cycle time. In addition, its specially designed grippers also eliminated the need to use/change cardboard gripper on every coil which is typical for other stretchers on the market.
The new stretcher leveler produces the flattest, most stable material possible while operating virtually independent of incoming strip shape and severity. The result is a flat product that will stay flat and is particularly well suited for laser cutting applications where flatness is essential.
