Feralloy’s Decatur, Ala., plant recently hosted an open house featuring its newest leveling technology, the Butech Bliss Stretch Leveler with 1,850 tons of stretching force. This new leveler has the ability to stretch level hot rolled, pickled and oiled material up to 0.5” thick by 74” wide at 100,000 psi yield and can do this without marking the material, producing memory-free panel flat product for OEM’s that laser cut parts and components.
Guests who attended the two day event included general managers from Feralloy’s various North American plants and Carlos Rodriguez Borjas, president of Feralloy. The visitors were given tours of the plant and a firsthand look at Feralloy’s newest leveling technology in action. A southern style barbecue lunch was served followed by a leveling technology presentation given by Butech Bliss’ coil processing engineers and owners. Day two of the event included Feralloy’s customers touring the facility and viewing firsthand the quality of the stretch level product produced on the new leveler. Customers were also given the opportunity to ask any questions regarding the quality of the material of Feralloy’s and Butech Bliss’ technical team during their visit.
Jeffrey Diener, general manager of Feralloy’s Southern Division, mentioned how smoothly the installation process went and the outstanding continued technical support that Butech Bliss gives them. He is excited about the new stretch leveled memory free product that they can now offer their demanding customers.
