Fat Margins Push Chinese Steel Output to May Record
06/14/2018 - Chinese steel production rose to record 81.1 million metric tons in May as mills boosted output to capture profits, reports the Reuters news service.
“Steel mills have been running full-load and adding scrap steel to increase output in order to cash in on strong margins,” Zhuo Guiqiu, senior analyst at Jinrui Futures, told the news service.
