EVRAZ ZSMK Signs Off on PCI Plant from Paul Wurth

Two coal grinding and drying plants, with a capacity of 88 t/h each, feed pulverized coal to the individual injection plants of all three blast furnaces of the Zapsib site with a total hot metal capacity of 18,700 tons per day.

Earlier, it was EVRAZ NTMK at Nizhnij Tagil where the first adoption of PCI technology in Russia took place – also in cooperation with Paul Wurth. Subsequently, EVRAZ stated in a press release of summer 2014 that “lessons learned at EVRAZ NTMK allowed the Siberian engineers at EVRAZ ZSMK to choose the best-performing and most cost-effective mode of operation for the new equipment.”
