EVRAZ Signs Off on Furnace Improvements
01/16/2018 - Russia’s EVRAZ has signed the final acceptance certificate on a project that modernized the No. 2 electric arc furnace at its plant in western Siberia.
According to Primetals Technologies, which was awarded the contract in July 2015, the project entailed the installation of two new upper shells, a refining combined burner system, and coal and lime injection systems.
The goal of the project was to improve the furnace’s productivity by decreasing tap-to-tap times and reducing electrode consumption.
