EVRAZ North America Plans 28% Ramp-Up of Large Diameter Pipe Production
06/22/2015 - EVRAZ plc hosted an Investor Day on 17 June 2015 in London, United Kingdom.
The company outlined plans to increase production of large diameter pipes (LD) in its North American sector (EVRAZ North America) from 364 kt in 2014 to 465kt in 2015, a growth rate of approximately 28%. The ramp-up was ordered in response to strong growth in LD pipe demand from the oil and natural gas industry. The company predicts pipe demand in 2015–2018 to exceed 1.5 million tons annually.
Additionally, EVRAZ announced that it will shift their future North American investments from the rail market to the pipe market through such means as expanding their product portfolio to include thicker wall pipe designs, high-value heat-treated pipe, and premium and semi-premium connections of Red Deer premium threading lines.
