European Commission Sets April Deadline for Review of Tata-thyssenkrupp Joint Venture
01/15/2019 - European Union competition regulators have extended the timeframe in which they expect to complete a review of Tata Steel and thyssenkrupp’s planned European joint venture, news and commodities pricing service S&P Global Platts reports.
According to Platts, the review now is expected to be finished by 29 April. Regulators are looking into whether the combination of Tata Steel’s European flat rolled operation with thyssenkrupp’s steel division would affect prices and consumer choice.
The new joint venture entity would become Europe’s second largest steel producer.
