EUROFER Announces Change in Management
09/25/2014 - In the context of the appointment of a new European Commission and the election of a new European Parliament, EUROFER has decided on a transition to a new leadership: Gordon Moffat, current director general is leaving the association.
Robrecht Himpe, EUROFER president said: "Gordon Moffat has been with EUROFER for 27 years, 8 of them as director general. He has provided strong leadership in a very challenging policy environment and we thank him for his contribution to EUROFER and to the European steel industry particularly in the post-2007 period."
Axel Eggert has been nominated as interim EUROFER director general. In 1998 Axel joined the Representation of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate in Brussels. From 1999 to 2007 he was head of office of a Member of the European Parliament, with focus on the Committee on Environment, Health and Food Safety. Since 2007 he was director of public affairs at EUROFER in Brussels.
