EU Sets Limits on Imported Steel

01/16/2019 - The European Union’s member countries have approved a cap on steel imports, an effort to prevent home markets from being flooded by a wave of foreign steel deflected from the U.S. 

Under the plan, imports of roughly two dozen types of steel products will be subject to a quota until July 2021. 

The cap makes permanent a temporary measure the European Union imposed after the Trump administration rolled out its Section 232 tariffs.
