EU Seeks to Join China on Complaint Over Steel Tariffs
04/23/2018 - The European Union has asked to join China in its dispute over the U.S. decision to impose a 25% tariff on imported steel, the Reuters news service reports.

On another front, leaders of the U.S. Senate Finance Committee are urging the Trump administration to quickly make improvements to the process for granting product-based exemptions to the tariffs.
In a letter, committee chairman Orrin Hatch and ranking member Ron Wyden write that the process so far has lacked basic due process and procedural fairness and that the Commerce Department needs to “implement improvements … as soon as practicable,” reports The Hill newspaper.
