Essar Steel Appoints CEO of its Odisha Operations

Essar Steel India Ltd announced the appointment of Rajendra Mittal as the chief executive officer for its Odisha operations.
Mr. Mittal takes over from Mr. Shivramkrishnan who has assumed a larger role at the corporate level as chief commercial officer.
Mr. Mittal, with a post-graduate degree in chemistry and international trade, will be responsible for managing the Odisha operations. He has over 39 years of diversified experience in international trade, greenfield project management and corporate planning.
Prior to Joining Essar, Mr. Mittal was in-charge of Uttam Galva’s 3-MTPA ISP Project at Satarda, Maharashtra. He was also responsible for the 500,000 tonnes per annum pig iron project at Wardha as director and CEO of the Project.
Essar Steel India’s Odisha Complex is a 12 million tonnes per annum integrated pellet facility, comprising an iron ore beneficiation plant at Dabuna and a pellet plant in Paradip, which is connected through a 253-km slurry pipeline. Essar Steel has committed a total investment of over Rs. 5000 crore for this complex with a further plan to set up a steel plant.
Mr. Shivramkrishnan has now assumed charge of the commercial function of US$3 billion Essar Steel India Limited business.
He has been associated with the Group in various capacities over the last two decades. He has held various positions in Essar including that of heading export marketing division thereby, making significant contributions to the growth of the organization.
