Esmark Announces New Management for Core Business Segments

In the process of aligning management responsibilities with its two business segments—Mill Operations and Downstream Operations—Esmark Inc. announced several executive appointments that take effect immediately.
 
“This realignment is a natural outgrowth of combining Esmark's operations with those of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Corp. last November," stated James P. Bouchard, Esmark’s Chairman and CEO. "We're now one company with two core business competencies; these administrative changes assign the experience and skill set of our management team to the areas where their contributions are optimized."
 
The company named David A. Luptak Executive Vice President of the company’s Mill Operations. Immediately prior to this appointment, Luptak served as Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary. Before joining the company, he worked for 20 years with U.S. Steel, holding various positions in the legal department and in operations, including Plant Manager of U.S. Steel's Edgar Thompson works.
 
The management team reporting to Luptak will include James Ledgard, whowas promoted to Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. Glenn Steed, who was namedas General Manager, Primary Operations, and Charles Dinger, who was namedGeneral Manager, Hot Strip Mill and Finishing Operations, will both report directly to Jim Ledgard.
 
The company named Thomas A. Modrowski Executive Vice President of the company’s Downstream Operations. With more than 25 years of diversified steel industry experience prior to joining the company in December 2006, Modrowski previously served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. His career includes senior management and operations positions at Esmark Steel Service Group, U.S. Steel, Electric Coating Technologies, and Double Eagle Steel Coating Co.
 
Michael Ogrizovich, who was named President of the company’s Service Center Group, will report directly to Tom Modrowski.
 
The company also named V. John Goodwin as Executive Vice President, with responsibility for overseeing USW labor relations. David Pryzbylski, who has been named a Vice President of the company, will report directly to Goodwin.
 
Esmark Inc. is a vertically integrated steel producer and distributor, combining steel production capabilities through both blast furnace and electric arc furnace technologies with the just-in-time delivery of value-added steel products to a broad customer base concentrated in the Ohio Valley and Midwest regions. Currently headquartered in Wheeling, W.Va., the company is a producer of carbon flat-rolled products for the construction, container, appliance, converter/processor, steel service center, automotive and other markets. Products include a range of sheet products such as hot rolled, cold rolled, hot dipped galvanized, electro-galvanized, black plate and electrolytic tinplate.
