08/17/2011 - ArcelorMittal USA has selected Enviance, Inc.’s cloud-based software to manage data for air emissions, greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory, material safety data sheets (MSDS), water and waste.
ArcelorMittal USA has selected Enviance, Inc.’s cloud-based software to manage data for air emissions, greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory, material safety data sheets (MSDS), water and waste. ArcelorMittal USA will use the solution to standardize, track, and report environmental data to increase compliance visibility across the organization and continue its compliance with environmental regulations.
Paul Carpenter, Manager of Environmental Information and Reporting at ArcelorMittal USA, said, “Enviance’s system puts our air, water, waste, greenhouse gas, and MSDS data into one centralized repository giving us audit-grade visibility that helps us adhere to our environmental standards. With Enviance, we can continue our long-standing commitment to the sustainable management of the environment.”
Having previously used excel sheets, custom-built databases, and manual processes across disparate systems to collect data, ArcelorMittal USA sought out a centralized management/tracking system to satisfy its environmental compliance obligations. It will now have complete and actionable compliance visibility over its environmental data, with capabilities for external and internal reporting, and the ability to scale and expand functionality to meet future needs. Enviance’s software also gives each operator access to particular parts of the system needed by the operator while providing the corporate team with the real-time, top-down reporting and analytics necessary to effectively manage the environmental data.
CH2M HILL, a global leader in full-service engineering, consulting, construction, and operations, will lead the implementation of the Enviance system at ArcelorMittal USA.
“We are excited to work with ArcelorMittal USA to help the company meet key environmental, safety, and compliance requirements,” said Lawrence Goldenhersh, President and CEO at Enviance. “The Enviance system will give ArcelorMittal USA a single platform to better and more cost-effectively manage its environmental compliance, allow for greater insight into and control over its safety practices, and provide a flexible, audit-grade platform to mitigate future environmental risks.”
