Engineering Firm Creates New Department to Help Fulfill More Extensive Orders
01/31/2017 - Pittsburgh, Pa.-based Bloom Engineering has appointed a company veteran to lead its newly created project management department.
In an announcement Tuesday, the company said the department will be headed by Michael Binni.
“When fully implemented, I expect the project management department will be able to manage significant numbers of complex projects through the project lifecycle, including planning, execution, monitoring and closure,” Binni said in a statement, adding that his goal will be to enhance customer relations and streamline the process by which projects are brought to completion.
Bloom Engineering designs and builds burners and combustion systems. Lately, the company said, it has been winning orders for more complete combustion system packages, so it is creating the department to tackle the bigger project load.
Binni, who holds an engineering degree from Pennsylvania State University, has spent his entire career with Bloom Engineering. and has held a variety of positions with the research and development, applications, engineering, and direct sales departments.
He most recently served as vice president of sales. He’ll be succeeded by Michael Black, who spent more than 20 years with materials testing equipment maker Instron.
“He brings a wealth of experience in sales, marketing, and management to his new role,” the company said in a statement.
