Egyptian Steelmaker Taps Danieli for Bar Mill Upgrade

02/09/2017 - Egypt’s ezzsteel has awarded a contract to Danieli for modifications to the No. 2 bar mill at its EZDK plant in Alexandria.

In a statement, Danieli said it will replace the bar mill’s quenching waterboxes and install its QTB quench-and-self-temper technology. The technology will be employed to quench 3 to 10 mm rebar at a speed of 12.9 mps and 12 mm rebar at 9 mps.

Danieli also will provide a standalone automation package.
