Tool steel, stainless steel and alloyed structural steel can be formed into semi-finished products and sections on the press. Dongbei Special Steel is thus improving its product quality and productivity.
 
“With the new large open-die forging press from SMS Meer we can venture into new markets,” said Xu Dexiang, deputy managing director of Dongbei Special Steel.
 
SMS Meer has already supplied three plants to Dongbei Special Steel: A 35-/40-MN open-die forging press to Fushun Special Steel in Fushun, Liaoning Province, a high-speed 60-/70-MN open-die forging press to Qiqihar North Forging Steel in Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province, and an SMX 800/16-MN hydraulic forging machine to Dongbei Special Steel in Dalian.
