Dofasco Cold Mill
to Utilize Kelk Tensiometers

April 2, 2004 — George Kelk Corp., Toronto, has received an order from Mitsubishi Heavy Industries America Inc. for Monobloc Tensiometer Transducers and Tensiometer Load Cells.

The Kelk transducers and load cells will be utilized on Dofasco’s Cold Strip Mill as part of a modernization project. Both products were designed to fit the space available in the mill, facilitating the installation with minimal mechanical changes.

Kelk Tensiometer Load Cells are manufactured from solid high strength alloy steel to give them strength and endurance, and were designed to meet the specific requirements of the mill to ensure optimum measurement and long service life. The Load Cells interface with the Rollmax Digital Signal Processor to provide fast, accurate and reliable measurement.
