Dillinger Hütte Nominates new Chief Executive Officer

The Supervisory Boards of Aktien-Gesellschaft der Dillinger Hüttenwerke (Dillinger Hütte) and the holding DHS – Dillinger Hütte Saarstahl AG have nominated Dr. Karlheinz Blessing (53) as Chief Executive Officer and member of the Board of Management effective February 10, 2011, for a term of 5 years.
 
Blessing succeeds Dr. Paul Belche (58), who has resigned.
 
In his new position, Blessing will be responsible for the commercial division (Sales) within Dillinger Hütte’s Board of Management. For an interim period, he will also maintain his position as Labor Director within the Board of Management of Dillinger Hütte and Saarstahl AG until a successor is appointed by the supervisory boards.
 
Blessing has been a member of the Board of Management and the Labor Director of Dillinger Hütte as well as a member of the Board of Management of the holding DHS –Dillinger Hütte Saarstahl since January 1994. As from July 1, 2007, he has also been a member of the Board of Management of Saarstahl AG. Furthermore, he belongs to the management of SHS – Stahl-Holding-Saar. He will continue to fill these two functions in the future.

In addition to Blessing’s appointment, the Dillinger Hütte Supervisory Board has appointed Dr. Ralf Hubo (52) as Chief Representative of Dillinger Hütte. In his new position, Hubo will be responsible for corporate strategy and planning, and in this function he will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer Dr. Karlheinz Blessing.
 
Hubo has been employed at Dillinger Hütte since 1990. He was the Head of the Marketing Department from 1994 to 2006, and most recently has been responsible for the Metallurgical Department of the company.

Dr. Günter Luxenburger will continue to act as the Head of the Sales and Marketing Department.
