Dietrich Facilities Receive Key Third-Party Code Compliance Certification

Dietrich Metal Framing announced that their 12 structural cold-formed steel framing manufacturing facilities have obtained code compliance certification from the Steel Stud Manufacturers Association (SSMA). Dietrich is the first national manufacturer to receive certification for all of its facilities.

“Dietrich has been and remains committed to providing code compliant materials, along with training and education for contractors, architects and code officials,” said John Roberts, President of Dietrich Metal Framing. “This certification allows us to provide documentation that our products meet or exceed Code requirements.”

Dietrich Metal Framing has performed over 5000 educational sessions for building industry professionals since 2005. These sessions include training on identifying non-code compliant materials.

The SSMA, a Chicago-based trade association that represents manufacturers of steel studs, track and joists, recently launched a third-party code compliance certification program as a means for member manufacturers to certify that their structural cold-formed steel framing complies with IBC 2006 code requirements. Independent verification, conducted by Architectural Testing, Inc. (ATI), is supported with random facility inspections. Certified products are also sampled and tested to assure compliance with current IBC 2006 code requirements.
