Dietrich’s Metal Lath Receives Building Code Endorsement

The International Code Conference Evaluation Services (ICC-ES) has certified that Dietrich Metal Framing’s Junior Diamond Mesh Lath, Self-Furred Diamond Mesh Lath, 3/8-inch Riblath, Self-furring Dimpled and V-Grooved Paperback Diamond Mesh Lath, Cornerite, Striplath, and 1-A Expanded Flange Corner Bead products are code-compliant building products and are approved for construction use even when not specifically named in existing codes.

The metal lath and trim products certified in the ICC-ES report are used to reinforce interior or exterior plaster installed in accordance with the 2003 and 2006 International Building Codes, as well as the 2003 and 2006 International Residential Codes.

“The market continues to demand code-compliant products, and we will seek ICC certification as we develop new and innovative products for our customers,” said John Roberts, President, Dietrich Metal Framing.

“With the adoption of the ICC 2006 International Building Code (IBC) as the basis for the current 2007 California Building Code (CBC), and the soon-to-be adoption of the new ICC 2009 IBC as the basis for the new 2010 CBC, it is imperative that manufacturers also have their products approved by ICC,” said Bruce A. Poulsen, Architect and Architectural Specifier. “The Division of the State Architect, Structural Safety Section, is now and will for future projects seek ICC approval on manufactured products, especially those that have Structural Safety Review.”
