Danieli Wins Order for Wide Plate Mill
07/28/2017 - India’s Mishra Dhatu Nigam Ltd. has awarded a contract to Danieli for a wide plate mill.
The mill is being designed to roll plate up to 3100 mm wide from a range of alloys, including titanium, stainless and high-strength, low-alloy.
The order calls for a single-stand mill able to withstand a maximum roll separating force of 60,000 kN. Plate treatment and finishing facilities will include a dividing crop shear, plate leveler, roller hearth furnace and a continuous roller pressure-quenching machine.
“The leveler will operate with 11 rolls, suitable for processing the plates ranging from 5 to 50 mm in thickness in hot and cold conditions. Heat treatment will be done at the roller hearth furnace and a new generation high-efficiency continuous roller pressure quenching machine,” Danieli said in a statement,
Danieli Automation will supply the electrical and automation systems. Danieli Centro Combustion is delivering the reheating and heat treatment furnaces.
The new mill is to be put into service by the second half of 2019.
