Danieli Wins Order for Vacuum Degasser Upgrade
04/10/2017 - Russia’s JSC Ural Steel has awarded a contract to Danieli Centro Met for upgrades to the vacuum degasser at its Novotroitsk facility.
According to Danieli, the improvements include the installation of a full steam ejector vacuum pump. It will operate in parallel with the existing pump, which will allow both tanks on the vacuum degasser to operate independently or in tandem.
Additionally, Danieli will install a new dust separation system and a new hydraulic suction line.
The improvements are expected to yield a 64% increase in production, taking it to 1.8 million metric tons of special steels annually. Start-up is scheduled for the end of this year.
