Danieli Wins Order for Sampling Robots
05/22/2017 - Nucor-Yamato Steel Co. has ordered two robotic samplers to serve the ladle furnaces at the company’s facility in Blytheville, Ark., USA.
According to Danieli, the order for the Q-Robots is part of an effort to automate operations and keep human operators farther away from liquid steel. Danieli said the robots are capable of handling the entire sampling cycle.
“From the picking up of the cartridges from the specially designed distributors to the delivery of the samples in a designated position, all operations are done automatically with just the push of a button,” Danieli said.
The robots are being built at Danieli Automation’s Telerobot Labs in northern Italy.
