According to Danieli, the quench system will significantly enhance the mill's cooling capabilities, extending the range of achievable cooling rates and different cooling strategies. It also will lower operating expenses by reducing alloy elements in the steelmaking process.  

The order follows a Danieli-led overhaul of the mill several years ago. That project included major upgrades to the 4-high finishing stand and pinch roll shears as well as a new automation system, among other things. 

The equipment will be manufactured at Danieli India workshops in Channai.
