Danieli Wins Order for Endless Cast-Roll Long Products Mill
01/29/2021 - Danieli has been contracted to build a 1-million-metric-ton endless casting-rolling mini-mill for Bangladesh’s Bashundhara Group, the company has announced.
Danieli said the mill, which will utilize its MIDA technology, will be set up to produce rebar and wire rod. It will be the most productive single-strand long products mini-mill in the world, Danieli said.
The mill will include a 100-metric-ton Danieli Digimelt furnace and a single-strand caster equipped with Danieli’s newly patented Octocaster mold, which will form a continuous billet at speeds exceeding 7 m/min.
The rolling mill will have 20 AC-driven housingless stands in H and V configurations, feeding two lines for bundled rebar and wire rod.
Start-up is scheduled for early 2023.
