Danieli Wins Contract from Indian Government
01/27/2017 - India’s Department of Atomic Energy has ordered a second cold pilger mill from Danieli W+K, the company has announced.
The mill will produce highly specialized stainless tubes with outer diameters of between 10 and 35 mm. The mill will serve the department’s Nuclear Fuel Complex, an industrial division responsible for making fuel bundles and reactor core components for all of the country’s nuclear reactors.
In a statement, Daniel said the mill is being deployed to a highly demanding production environment.
“An exceptionally rigid mill stand configuration capable of resisting extremely high separating forces allows the Quarto to offer the most favorable solution and achieve the very tight geometrical tolerances requested -- ±0.2% on outer diameters,” Daniel said in a statement.
“Also incorporated into the installation is a continuous and precise shell feeding section, which adopts CNC machine technology and a vibration-free mass balancing system, optimized to reduce capital expense with minimal requirements in terms of foundation works.”
