Danieli to Supply Wire Rod Mill for Talleres Y Acero
10/01/2005 - Talleres Y Acero SA de CV, Mexico, has contracted Danieli for the supply of a new complete wire rod rolling mill. The new mill will be installed at the company’s Orizaba steelworks, adjacent to the existing bar mill and steelmaking plant.
Talleres Y Acero SA de CV, Mexico, has contracted Danieli for the supply of a new complete wire rod rolling mill. The new mill will be installed at the company’s Orizaba steelworks, adjacent to the existing bar mill and steelmaking plant.
The new mill will have the capacity to produce approximately 300,000 tonnes per year of 5.5- to 16-mm diameter low/medium carbon and low alloy steel wire rod in coils weighing up to 1.5 tonnes.
The mill will consist of a 14-stand roughing/intermediate mill on SHS housingless stands in H and V arrangement, plus a 10-pass twist-free DWB high-speed finishing block. The facility will also include a DSC controlled-cooling line, wire rod coil forming and finishing facilities.
Danieli’s scope of supply will include the technological equipment making up the new rolling mill, the associated electricals and automation system, and auxiliary plants and services such as water treatment plant, compressed air system, roll turning shop, etc.
Plant startup is scheduled to place in the second half of 2006.
