Danieli to Supply Slab Casting Plant for Chengde
06/27/2007 - Chengde Xinxin Vanadium and Titanium has awarded an order to Danieli Davy Distington for a new 3.5-million tonne/year slab casting plant this will incorporate two twin-strand machines.
Chengde Xinxin Vanadium and Titanium Co. Ltd., Hebei province, P.R. China, has awarded an order to Danieli Davy Distington to provide a new slab casting plant designed to produce 3.5 million tonnes/year of prime quality slabs.
The new plant will comprise two twin-strand machines, designed to cast 180- and 200-mm thick slabs, 900- to 1650-mm wide. The plant will produce hot- and cold-rolling steels, including carbon steels, low-alloy steels for automotive applications, HSLA, and pipe grades up to X70.
To ensure superior internal and surface quality for the slabs, Danieli will equip the new casting strands with state-of-the-art technologies, including IMNO mold with width-adjustment system, an integrated hydraulic oscillation system with dedicated automation package, and advanced in-mold breakout prevention system technology. Danieli will also provide a dynamic secondary cooling control system with in-line mathematical model.
The new casting plant, which is scheduled to start up during the first half of 2008, will feed the new Danieli hot strip mill.
