Hebei Jinxi, P.R. China, has awarded a contract to Danieli to supply the core equipment for two new H-Beam medium section mills.
The new mills, which will each have a nominal capacity of 800,000 tonnes/year, will be used to produce 100- to 400-mm high-quality parallel-flange H-beams, correspondent I-beams, angles and channels. The mills will operate at rates of up to 165 tonne/hour, 190 tonne/hour in hot-charge mode.
For each of the two mills, Danieli will supply a 10-stand super-flexible finishing mill made up of the latest-generation SHS-U universal/horizontal housingless stands, with 1000/840-mm rolls diameter. All stands will be equipped with automatic stand replacement for quick program changing.
Of the ten finishing stands, seven are Universal-type for production of high quality H-Beams. These universal stands can be quickly reassembled as two-high stands (and vice versa), depending on product being rolled.
Key equipment supply will also include crank-type crop shears before the finishing mill and heavy-duty straighteners at delivery side of the cooling beds for on-line straightening of the full-length beams and sections.
Startup of both of the new mills is scheduled for middle 2008
