Danieli to Provide Plate-Steckel Mill Plant for Jiang Yin Xing Cheng

Jiang Yin Xing Cheng Special Steel Works Co. Ltd., P.R. of China, recently awarded Danieli a contract to supply a plate/Steckel mill and finishing equipment to be installed in their existing plant in Jiang Yin City.

According to Danieli, the new plant’s design will offer Jiang Yin Xing Cheng the ability to produce plate or coils via conventional and controlled rolling or Thermo-mechanical rolling. The new equipment will allow the company to process structural, HSLA structural, some shipbuilding, and boiler steel grades through conventional/controlled rolling, while thermo-mechanical rolling will be used for high-pressure vessel, pipeline (up to X80), and shipbuilding steels.

The plant will be designed for the production of both finished plate and coils. Hot rolled coils will range in thicknesses from 2.5 to 25.4 mm, and widths from 1600 to 3000 mm, with a maximum weight of 53 tonnes; plate will range in thickness from 4.5 to 50 mm, widths from 1600 to 3250 mm, and length from 3000 to 18000 mm.

The new rolling mill will incorporate Danieli Wean United’s most up-to-date technology, including fully hydraulic HAGC, double-jack heavy bending and work-roll shifting for full control of geometrical parameters of the finished products.

Danieli Automation will provide the complete Level 1 and Level 2 automation system for the rolling area and individual equipment of shearing line.

The first rolled plate is scheduled to be produced by the second quarter of 2009.
