JSC Petrovsky DMP, Ukraine, recently awarded Danieli the contract to modernize its steelmaking facilities in Dnepropetrovsk. The goals of the project include enhanced flexibility and reduced production costs.

Danieli ‘s scope of supply includes a 70-tonne ladle furnace and a 6-strand high speed conticaster.

Equipped with two ladle cars and powered by a 14-MVA transformer, the ladle furnace will ensure heat treatment times of less than 25 minutes to match the converters’ sequencing. The 9-meter radius conticaster is suitable for casting from 100- up to 200-mm square billets, with a nominal capacity of one million tonnes/year.

Danieli Automation will supply the automation and process control systems.
