Danieli to Install FastArc Technology on EZDK EAF

06/26/2007 - Al Ezz Dikheila has selected Danieli Centro Met to perform a significant revamp of its existing No. 1 Electric Arc Furnace in the Alexandria meltshop, which is part of the Ezz Flat division.

Al Ezz Dikheila (EZDK), Egypt, has selected Danieli Centro Met to perform a significant revamp for its existing No. 1 Electric Arc Furnace located in the Alexandria meltshop, which is part of the Ezz Flat division.
 
EZDK is undertaking the project in an effort to enhance plant efficiency and operation reliability, and to enlarge production capacity up to about 1.2 million tonnes per year.
 
In support of these goals, Danieli will install its FastArc injection technology on the 160-tonne EAF, as well as a new advanced process optimization/automation system. Danieli will also install a new EBT-design shell for the EAF that is fitted with water cooled panels, and will upgrade the existing FTP water cooled duct.
 
Danieli will also install a new Level 1 and Level 2 automation system that will allow the existing EAF to be operated in the automatic process setting. The new system will also interface with the existing ladle furnace and conticaster.
 
Simultaneously with the order for the EAF modification, EZDK also contracted Danieli for the major upgrading of their long products rolling mill.
